A BREAK IN BARCELONA
I fell in love with Barcelona; delicious food, great architecture, lazy cappuccinos in sunlit squares and skate culture everywhere you turn. There is so much to see and nothing beats being able to escape from the city mayhem in ten minutes and lie on the beach..I wish you could do that in London.
Our apartment was slap bang in the middle of the centre on the top floor of an authentic Spanish building, we entered through an enormous oak door and climbed the concrete steps. It was so picturesque with balconies surrounding each room.
This was the view from the balcony in our bedroom. At the end of the cobbled street It took us straight to Las Ramblas which is the main street that runs through the city.

The tapas in Barcelona can be overwhelming but we found a real gem "Llamber" here. It had such a nice atmosphere and the food was so delicious we ordered the same things twice! My favourite was the seared tuna with almonds and beetroot carpaccio with prawns (below).
If you get the chance you must go on the cable car it goes across Barcelona in seven minutes and gives you the most breathtaking views, just make sure you get there before lunch as the queue gets very long. We wondered around the Costa I Llobera gardens which are immaculate and a beautiful place to take in the views of the harbour.
With only three days of exploring in this beautiful city we have now created a well-trodden route of favourite spots for whenever we get the chance to retrace our steps.
