Skincare… Where to even begin when it comes to skincare, there are so many products and different brands out there it’s so hard to know what to use. Every skin is different and once you find the products that work for you, it’s a real game changer.
Last summer I really struggled with my skin, I was breaking out and it was very over sensitive. I got to a point where I just didn’t know what to use and I was trying so many different products on my skin and it just seemed to get worse. Around October time I decided to change up my routine, instead of mixing lots of different products, I wanted to stick with one brand that I had used growing up and that I knew worked well with sensitive skin.
Dermalogica came to my rescue, I went to their flagship store in Chelsea, where I had a unique 14 zone facial analysis that provides an insight into your skin’s past and present, they will then prescribe you targeted products that will truly work for you.
They had developed a new Age bright blemish range which I hadn’t tried before, so they recommended a few products from this range.
I left with the products they had recommended and started using these daily, I immediately saw results.
I can’t tell you guys how important it is to double cleanse in the evening, doing just this I immediately noticed a difference in my skin, living in a busy city it’s so hard to get all the pollution and grime off your skin, so this is a crucial part of your skincare routine… they should teach you this in school!
I double cleanse with the Special cleansing gel and Clearing foaming wash, the gel removes impurities and doesn't disturb the skin’s natural moisture balance, the foaming wash has salicylic acid inside, so it goes deeper into the skin and is great to use on the second cleanse.
I then use the Multi active toner spray that hydrates and refreshes. It helps condition the skin and prepare it for proper moisture absorption, I love to spritz it on my skin throughout the day.
Next is a favourite product of mine, it’s the Age bright clearing serum and it’s incredible, I really need to slow down on it as I’m getting through so many bottles. It’s a magical product that prevents break outs and accelerates cell turnover to reduce signs of skin aging… What more could you want?
In the morning I use the SPF factor 50 solar defence, and on top I use the Skin perfect primer. I love the texture of this, it’s like silicone and glides onto the skin. It has a slight tint in it so leaves your skin looking perfectly primed.
Dermalogica recently launched a new amazing Biolumin vitamin C eye serum, I’ve been using this for a couple of months and it’s probably one of the best vitamin C serums out there, as it doesn’t oxidise. It’s supercharged with Vitamin C and strives to combat premature signs of ageing and brighten the undereye area. Lightweight and quickly absorbed, the serum is powered by a nourishing blend of natural botanicals and it really does work!
I’ve been solidly sticking to this routine, and I can honestly say my skin hasn’t been in this good condition for such a long time. This is my honest review on these products and as I said before, everyone’s skin is different, but I really can’t fault Dermalogica and I will continue to use their products. They are so helpful in store, so if you haven’t tried the products before it’s so worth going to speak to one of their skincare specialists and they can advise you on the right products for your skin.
